Got this email last week and I had to share it with everyone! Emails, phone calls, and text messages like this tell me we’re going in the right direction! This was our first major event where we ran some of the nodes on battery/solar for more than 24 hours. If we’re getting messages like this now, I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Eastern Iowa Field Day team, thank you for the outstanding support AREDN provided for this year’s Field Day event. It was a lot of effort on your part to set up the mesh network that linked our logging computers, but it was a total success. Operators got great value from seeing the real time contacts from the other stations, and the captains could monitor what was going on remotely to ensure stations were on good bands and not getting in each other’s way.
Your educational display of AREDN gear along with the live video and scores from the stations was also a very popular part of our important public facing activities. Your live demonstration of high-speed networking and digital communication educated our members and inspired visitors about the future of amateur radio technology.
In a year when CVARC set new performance records, the AREDN display stood out as an example of innovation driving our hobby forward. I look forward to continuing the collaboration in 2026.
Sincerely
Guy / N0MMA
